MAPS Privacy policy

TAG reserves the right to amend or replace in whole or part the Privacy policy at TAG's sole discretion from time to time.

TAG's policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our users. This policy statement tells you how we collect information from you and how we use it.
The information you provide is only used by TAG. TAG will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent. TAG may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) TAG's rights or property, other TAG users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. TAG may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. TAG share aggregate information about our users with advertisers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties. For example, we will say MAPS Authorized users are x percent female and y percent male. This data is used to customize MAPS and advertising to deliver a better experience for our users. There are cases where TAG may ask you for personal information such as your name, e-mail address, and birth date. TAG needs to collect this information for tracking/verifying compliance with TAG policies as well as UK and EU laws, and/or for editorial and feedback solicitation purposes. In case you change your mind or some personal information changes (such as your post code), we will endeavour to provide a way to correct, update, or remove the personal data you give us. This site gives users the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided:

* You can edit your personal details - click the edit button on your portfolio.
* You can send and email to the following email address: support@maps-ict.com
* You can call the following telephone number: 01474 357 350

Use of IP addresses

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers -- the computers that "serve up" Web pages -- automatically identify your computer by its IP address. TAG collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to report aggregate information, and to audit the use of our site. When users request pages from TAG sites, our servers log the users' IP addresses. We will normally link the IP address with the user login to identify who has logged in to MAPS and when. We can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with this Agreement including the Authorized User terms and conditions, to protect our service, site, customers, or others. Some services within TAG, such as certain message boards, may display IP addresses along with the message poster's name and message.

Cookies

For the MAPS service TAG does not currently use passive technologies, such as "cookies", to track individual visitors to collect information about their computers and/or site activities without their knowledge. We do, at times, use cookies for your convenience when using MAPS. For example, when Authorized Users log-in to MAPS a temporary cookie may be created so they do not need to log-in again during the same session. When you quit your browser application, this cookie information is not saved. Next time you start your browser again, you will need to log-in once again.

Hyperlinks to other sites

Users should be aware that when they are on TAG sites, they could be directed to other sites that are beyond our control. There are hyperlinks to other sites from TAG pages that take you outside our service. For example, if you "click" on a link that is a resource in a Task, the "click" takes you outside of MAPS. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. Please keep in mind that whenever you give out personal information online - for example, via message boards or chat - that information can be collected and used by people you don't know. While TAG strive to protect their users' personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online and you do so at your own risk. TAG's policy does not extend to anything that is inherent in the operation of the Internet, and therefore beyond TAG's control, and is not to be applied in any manner contrary to applicable law or governmental regulation.

Security

The importance of security for all personally identifiable information associated with our Authorized users is of utmost concern to us. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your PC to our servers. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, TAG can't ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. When your login information is transmitted we use industry standard, SSL (secure socket layer) 128-bit encryption. Your MAPS portfolio is password-protected so that only you can access it and view the information relevant to your portfolio. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. TAG will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or e-mail. Ultimately, you are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and any portfolio information. Remember to log out of your MAPS portfolio and close your browser window when you have finished your work. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if your computer is accessible to others or if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café.
